If you haven't seen the petition on change.org to do with Yolo could I ask you to take a look and sign? (Sorry I can't link!)
This is a case fairly local to me and has horrified the local community. I won't go into detail but a dog was left shut in a vacated flat to slowly starve to death. The woman lied about the fate of the dog and tried to plead not guilty. She received a suspended sentence and a ban from keeping animals. But not for life. If you can stand to read the details of the case then I hope you would agree a lifetime ban is appropriate.
Please sign and share.
RIP Yolo.

Signed already on facebook, what a nasty woman, how can anyone do this, poor dog
There is so much cruelty to animals, she should have been locked up, its time animal cruetly laws were changed
This Government dont care about animal cruelty really when they agree with fox hunting and Badger culling etc

Thanks. And thanks avocados for the clicky link. I've just fed my girl a bit early as she claimed she was weak from hunger. I can't imagine sitting down to a meal with my family knowing I had left a dog all alone with nothing to eat. Torture.

The problem is nobody seems to check whether these people get animals again , there was a case in a village near us where a couple got charged with cruelty and neglect to a bulldog , the man in question had already got a 5 yr ban which he was obviously taking no notice of . He’s now got a life ban but I would imagine he’s also flouting that .

It's just gossip but the woman now appears to live with a man who has a dog. Funnily enough when this came out in the press all his dog photos were removed from FB. I couldn't stay with a partner capable of this. If she doesn't move people local to her would shop her the minute she tried to take on another animal. Feelings are strong.

Sadly a ban on animals means jack squat. A woman who ran a rescue in Scotland was convicted of animal abuse - she had dead dogs in her freezer as well as emaciated dogs in her care - and is on a ban. Her own personal dogs were handed to a rescue, who appears to have handed them straight over to this woman's partner. Who she now lives with 🤔

FFS.
There is a real lack of political will to tackle anything like this.

Sadly so Wolfie. I don't think there is anything preventing someone on a ban from residing in a home with another animal owner either.
All we can hope for is someone to find out & batter shit out of them. I'm all for that

I have no idea how some people can be so cruel to another living animal SadAngry. There are no words to describe her and others like her.

In a nightclub with a group of friends a woman joined us who I recognised from the local paper. She had starved her German Shepherd to death - in her home - where her and her dc lived. Her defence said she was going through a difficult divorce. I quite politely - and showing much restrain - I asked her to walk away - said no way was I being in the same company as her.

Ooh Snowy you were bloody restrained!! There's no excuse for that. Sadly with the rescue stuff i do i have loads of stories about bastards (of both sexes) abusing animals & making up the most ridiculous excuses. Such as having to use a food bank to survive yet being spotted eating out three or four times a week whilst her rescue bulldog ate stones

We live in a country with rescues. TBH it's horrid but she would have been kinder to PTS (and I would never normally say that should happen unless a pet is truly unwell.) I waited bloody years for my dog and I have two terrible torties. Even if I went through a truly horrific divorce I wouldn't let them suffer.

For me my pets would become even more of a lifeline if i was going through a divorce!

Sadly I don't think this is uncommon. It happened to my GirlDog. Family moved out of their apartment and left her behind to starve to death. Thank God the neighbors figured out she was in there and got her out and she found her way to a good rescue and then to me.
