Help with medication for our old girl

Hi our beautiful staffie had an awful day yesterday. She had a tumour removed from her abdomen, three teeth removed and two skin tags removed from her eye lids.
She is obviously not feeling great. We've been given some oral pain relief for her to start today but she's not eating so my usual method of wrapping the tablet in a piece of ham is not working.
I hate the idea of her being in pain and wondered if anyone had any ideas of how to get this tablet into her. I've also got some liquid antibiotic to give her and I usually just squirt it down the side of her mouth but I'm worried about hurting her mouth if she's not had her pain relief.

Poor girl :(
Maybe put her tablet in something really strong smelling but soft like sardine or tinned dog food ? ( cat food has always worked for me!)
With liquid medicines I have put the dose on to a piece of bread before, if squirting it into the mouth wasn't possible.

Sorry your dog is so poorly. Crush/ grind tablet between 2 spoons until it's powder and mix with water then put in her mouth.

Thank you so much for your replies.

Bubble I've done that before with liquids I usually works really well.

Thanks mamisled, I feel so so sorry for her.

I managed to get the painkiller into her by opening the capsules and mixing the powder with some meat paste and she was able to lick it off a saucer.

The tumour she has had removed is being tested and we should have the results next week. She had a needle biopsy done last week and the vet not particularly concerned.
Unfortunately the results from the needle biopsy showed that it was not good news and the tumour needed to be fully removed and sent for testing.
I didn't expect the incision to be so big but they have cut 5cm around the tumour.

Please keep your fingers (and paws) crossed for our lovely old girl.

Thanks for the good wishes. Old girl is much much better and we got all her test results back and she was given all clear. They managed to get all of the cancerous tumour out and it hasn't spread. We've just got to keep a very close eye on her. I'm so glad we got what we (and the vet) thought was somrething and nothing checked out.
Here's smiley old girl feeling much betterSmile

Glad to hear your girlie got the all clear.

My dog used to have tablets everyday and I used to put a bit of cheese spread on the end of a blunt knife and pop the tablet in it and then he just licked it off the knife.
