The doghouse

Puppy lethargic and whimpering

Hi all,
first post on the doghouse!
We have a rough collie, he is almost 5 mths old.
Since yesterday evening he has been lethargic and whimpering from time to time, has not eaten or drunk much at all (or had much output) and yelps if I go to touch him - but once I do stroke him gently he seems ok. He seems a little more active this morning and is drinking and eating a small amount.
Will bring him to the vet this morning.
Anything in particular I should be checking for? First dog, we are at a loss.
The only food other than his usual that he got yesterday was some cooked chicken and a sausage. The sausage is a garlic and herb one, I thought it would be ok as so small, is it possible that the garlic or the salt in the pork could be making him ill?
Would appreciate any advice.

Take them to the vets. It's the best option.

It's possible that the sausage had some onion extract in it? Hope he is ok.

I'm sorry to say I think it was the garlic in the sausage

Its always best to google foods before you feed them to an animal, I'm always surprised by some of the things they arent able to eat.

There is a very long list of stuff not to feed dogs, make sure you familiarise yourself with it - some of it is very toxic like raisins
