Has anyone ever used agria pet insurance?

Hi everyone.

Our pup has come with 4 free weeks of insurance through a company called agria. They have sent me through some really good deals if I continue to insure with them.

Does anyone have any experience with using them? Don't want to continue with them if they aren't going to be any good.

Thanks

No experience of the actual company but things to consider.

Is it a life cover? If not then this might be why they appear to be a 'good deal'

How does the excess compare with other companies? Are you expected to pay excess and percentage or just excess?

Have you asked your vet on whether they have any dealings with them? Some companies our vet will claim directly from but for others I would have to pay upfront and then claim back (if that was the case could you potentially find a large amount whilst the claim was processed?)

Have you trawled through the t&cs to see what exclusions they have and are you happy with them?

Have you googled to see what reviews you can find and any comparison articles?

BiteyShark

Yes it is a lifetime cover (I wouldn't take out any policy other than a lifetime)

The excess is just £110 no percentage on top. Just the excess.

I'm taking pup to the vets on Tuesday so I was going to discuss it with him then.

I have looked through the t&c' s and it all seems in line with other companies so i can't see anything untoward there.

I have looked on google for reviews and especially looked at trustpilot and they are all good reviews but the reviews seem mainly about people taking out the cover (none of anyone actually making a claim on the insurance) so that's why I wanted to see if anyone had any actual experience with using them. Also I'm not sure if I trust reviews on the internet do people get paid to say good things about them?

It's probably affiliated to Agria, the Swedish pet insurers, part of the Länsförsäkringar insurance group. It's very well known in its country of origin, as well-known as saying Tesco, I've known about both companies for as long as I can remember (like thirty years)... Have no experience from the UK branch though, and it all boils down to the fine print of your particular contract, I guess.

I casually browsed to their UK website and, sure enough, they sport the Länsförsäkringar logo (the group logo)... I recognize that logo in an instant.

AlphaStation Yes it is affiliated to Länsförsäkringar that name appears in brackets evertime the word agria is used. So would you say they are trustworthy?

I know it's old but...
Please avoid this company. The 4 week trial is no good for puppies. Ours got sick but the did not pay out due to it being within 14 days. Even though we had called and checked we could claim. Also you will get countless emails, texts and marketing phonecalls from them.

I'm with them and am just about to make a claim, so we'll see how that goes. A friend recommended them, so I'm hopeful they're ok.

I started the policy four months ago and haven't had any marketing texts, calls or mail from them.

It was because we had the 4 week trial, that we got from the breeder. They were pushing to get us to switch to a full policy. I hope your claim goes ok.
