We brought her home last week, 9 weeks today.

Journey home was 1 1/2 hours on my lap. She was great only cried when she needed a poo.

Then I had 45 mins where I had to drive and she was in a crate and slept whole way. Not a whimper even.

Since then we've been out on 2 short (5 and 10 min) journeys and she has howled the whole time.

Both time when we have arrived at destination I've made a huge fuss and given a treat and we've been to collect my boy and she has been great (I'm carrying her)

I need her to be ok with the crate as (imo) is safest way in car for us all and we go camping with full car etc.

She sleeps in a closed crate at night and had been happy in that and goes to the crate for naps herself.

Any tips please

She is very young. I would concentrate on her settling with you at home and in garden and finding her feet. Every day do a short session sitting in car with her calmly feeding treats and letting her explore, move to engine running. A short trip somewhere next with a positive experience at the end and build up from there. Our pup went from being frightened of car to now associating it with an exciting walk meeting other dogs rather than fields and woods, although she likes these walks too.

I put my puppy in the passenger seat and drove her around several times a day. I was there to stroke her when she cried.

Once she became more used to it I put her in the back. I could stick my arm behind if need be so she could lick my hand for comfort.

She now loves the car Smile

Treats, comfort and praise and you'll both be fine!
