11 year old lab has been pacing all day long. Keeps getting stuck in corners and standing with her head under tables and chairs.

It's really upsetting.

Will call the vet first thing.

She went on Tuesday but symptoms are now a lot worse.

I have had to come up to bed as the pacing is breaking my heart.

I have tried to settle her but it doesn't work.

When my dog was ill I first thought dementia.

She was in so much pain that she got disorientated in the house and didn't recognise us.

It was awful pain from very high eye pressure caused by glaucoma (which was again caused by a rare eye disease, so rare the vet had never seen it) Undiagnosed for months until her weird behaviour started and I insisted at the vets that there was something wrong. Usually if I took her, the pressure was lower and she was her usual self.

The end result after months of eye drops and pressure monitoring was to have her eyes taken out and she is painfree, probably had the condition for years! And we thought it was her getting old.
She's like a puppy sometimes and she's 13. Being blind doesn't bother her at all.

Good luck for tomorrow and hope you find out what's wrong.

This popped up on my Facebook today - possibly relevant to your girl?

Definitely worth a trip to the vet ASAP I think.

Good luck

I've also come across 'head pressing' on a website and that was my first thought.

What did the vet say?

All sounds very distressing for you and your poor dog.

She's been at the vets since 11am having neuro tests. They tried to fob us off until tomorrow but we put our foot down.

We are due to hear back shortly. They are worried that her sight may have gone suddenly.

All very distressing for her and us. Poor girlie Sad

Just heard back, not likely brain related, possible spleen problem/tumour. Spleens can be removed. We are bringing her home tonight and she will go back for ultra sound tomorrow.

Fingers crossed
