Help! Stressed dog

3year old wheaten normally v independent has been a panting needy mess for nearly a week now, initially I thought the panting was heat as it started the same time as the heatwave, but I've since realised its not just the heat, she's v wanting for attention and is reacting badly to any loud noise (I've had to put towels next to door frames to prevent any bangs from creating a vacuum when doors and windows are open) and typical Sod's law we're 250 miles from home in a holiday cottage so no doubt the unfamiliar environment isn't helping either.

Out of desperation I've ordered one of those adaptil collars to arrive tomorrow, no idea what they're like but I have to do something the complete character change is starting to stress us all out, if that doesn't help I'll find a local vet

Does anyone have any words of wisdom she's my first dog so have no experience of this, thank you

Is it solely because you are away from home? My pooch does this when away from home and used to do it when dp was away.

Hi no it started early this week and we only went on holiday yesterday, she's panting most of the time I just wish it hadn't been so hot as I'm just confused as to how much is stress/ how much is heat, as really it's still warmer than what we're used to in the NE

What's made it start I'm racking my brains could it have been the thunder and lightning on tues but I put the telly on loud to disguise it, could it have been a loud door bang from the front and back doors opening at the same time causing a vacuum

My arsehole husband is blaming me for raising my voice which is just unhelpful bullshit yes I raise my voice occasionally and when I do she reacts with kisses to make me feel better not panting constantly, that bloody collar can't come quick enough!

dogs sometimes pant when they are in pain, i would be inclined to take her to the vets

My dog was a bit like this at the start of our time off because we'd messed with her routine too much. But yeah, take her to the vet in case it's something physical.

Never thought of that as she's eating and walking fine but I can't rule anything out
