Eye drops, any tips on getting them into the eye?

Pooch needs eye drops and DH (they are overseas) is struggling to get the drops in.

Are there any tricks to getting a dog to sit still and allow you drop liquid in his eye?

TIA

I'm in the same boat here. 28kg dog and he needs eye drops in twice a day for two weeks. Thank God he is not at all agressive! It is a battle every day.

Stand behind dog in sit position with your feet making bum stop so can't slip back wards. Tip head up towards you hold lid open with left hand squeeze drops in with right hand.

As Lonecat said, I used to go from behind Ddog, pull his upper eyelid up gently and administer the drops with my other hand. The vet showed me that trick as going in from the front was never going to work!

Thank you. DH said he used bribery last night, chicken, but I will pass your advice on.
