The doghouse

Do they choose preferred humans?

We have a great boy lab aged 2. He's such a good dog but he loves dh. He will obey me and is super with the dcs. Ultimately though he's looking to dh for approval, time and treats. All good.

We got a girl lab four months ago. She's 7 months now. She loves us all but will look to me the most for companionship. I treat her no differently to our boy lab. Treats, strokes etc. If I'm in the study or TV room, it is she who will seek me out, leaving her beloved chum behind.

Do dogs seek out one owner? Just curious.

I don't know about labs, but our border collie is very much my dog. It makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside Grin

I have 2 GSD, one loves everyone the other will only cuddle up beside me, she won't allow anyone else to walk her either.....and it's only my things she'll chew!

Berthadog has preferred humans at certain times of the day. In the morning she has to have a cuddle with DH and will pretty much ignore me, in the evening she will sit and whine at me until I get on the floor for a cuddle, DH is ignored.
