The pup is now 5 months old, 5kg soaking wet, but bold. He is now big enough to stand his ground and be a real playmate for the spaniel. God help me. They are tearing around the place with a rope toy, dashing down the garden, skidding in the gravel, running back indoors, flying up the stairs while I shriek at them to get down, ricocheting off the banisters and starting all over again. It's like having toddlers on speed. The pup growls, curls his lip and basically turns into a gremlin. The spaniel wags his tail, cocks his head and then batters him on the head with one clumsy paw. It's mayhem. Please send gin

We should get together chickens We could sit quietly together in the corner, rocking gently and drinking from the bottle while the boys try and wear themselves out :o

Grin Sounds like a plan! For the first time ever, I can understand the appeal of outside kennels

Our house goes something like this.

Cat walks past the dogs
BigDog follows the cat. LittleDog follows BigDog
When the cat looks at them they both run away, hide under the table, then jump over the arm of the sofa.

Then the bloody cat deliberately walks past them again. So they do the same thing. Over and over and over.
Until the cat gets bored and goes outside to sit on the fence. Both dogs follow. And howl at her. So she walks along the fence. The dogs follow down the garden. She jumps next door. The dogs then spend 10 minutes running in circles in the garden.

The cat comes in. Walks past the dogs. The dogs follow her. Then run away etc etc etc.

We have that as well!

One boxer wants to play, other boxer is asleep, first boxer starts jumping all over the other one and nudging them.
This escalates into trying to drag each other round the floor by the collar or play biting/mouthing each others legs.

Then they run round the lounge, through the kitchen, do ten laps of the back garden and first one back in headbutts the door open and runs in, door hits the cooker and bounces back to hit the second dog - EVERY DAY.

Luckily they make no attempt to involve the cat Grin

Hmm
Worryingly the cat is still very much involved, despite now being equal in size to the LandShark. I had hoped it would tail off as they got similar in size but he is adamant that he is a particularly shiny black dog with green eyes :o

oh the cat is a source of joy to the dogs, even though they are both utterly terrified of her.
They are so upset when she goes out.

The cat goes on the morning walk with DH and the boys, so keen is he not to be left out :)

My dogs are Confused and Envy that the cat has different rules to them.

Chickens I am only sending gin if you send vodka back this way Grin
Trying to cook supper last night with pup (springer collie who is 14 weeks) and dog (lab collie who is 2) chasing each other round and round the kitchen. DCs had shut them out of the rest of the house as they were annoying them Shock
I am sure I am breaking the 5 min for every month of life rule on exercise as the sprollie never stops chasing the older dog and just doesn't sleep all day, the only plus side being we do get a solid 12 hours overnight out of him so if we want a lie in we just let the mayhem last longer at night before we crate him for bed. Actually physically putting him in his crate is the only way to stop him being loopy

OP
Well, they are certainly having a ball, bless them. I have no gin, but if I had a valium to spare I'd send you one Grin.
Is the pup a cockerpoo? At 5 months and 5 kilos he will be smaller than my neighbour's son's who is a year and looks like a standard black poodle and bonkers.
My little 5kg adult girl was dwarfed by him and rather wary of his very friendly hyperactive waysSmile

The pup is a cockerpoo :) More poo than cock, though, so I suppose bound to be on the small side. He's adorable, but full of mischief. I can't tell if he's bonkers tbh, I only have Jasper to compare him to. I think it's fair to say that Jasper is totally batshit.

When I said bonkers, I meant OTT in excitement. Just been outside and met her off the lead in the garden. She was not as tall as I thought, as only saw her jumping up on her back legs wanting to greet me Grin. She is very obedient otherwise. She excitedly nibbled my hand but was gentle did not bite or hurt.
She is gorgeous and stayed in the unfenced front short garden/driveway and did not run off to explore unlike my little girl who has just done it Shock

The pup is very mouthy still, but soft with it. He keeps getting his baby teeth hooked in things and being flung across the room as we don't notice Grin Jas can regularly be seen mooching around the garden with a small black furball attached to the end of his tail, growling like the gremlin he is :)

Grin. What a comical pair they are. His baby teeth should all be replaced by 6 months - so just another month to go. Neighbour's has all her adult teeth. Think my 70 year-old neighbour will be relieved when his son comes back from holiday and takes her home Grin He kept referring to his late perfectly behaved red cocker spaniel he had before his sons left homeHmm. Got the impression he thought that this one had not been properly trained by his working son, DIL with 2 young children. Hmm
