Bloody grass seeds

Christ knows how many are in Jas's eye, I must have wiped away a dozen so far. He went bounding through a field on our walk this morning and came back speckled with seeds. Didn't think much of it, but ever since I have been wiping seeds out of his tear duct bit where they get eye crud. I pulled down his eyelid and wiped out another 3 or 4. Can I wash his eye out to make sure they're all gone? His eye doesn't seem irritated, btw, and he's quite happy for me to remove them. He had a few in the other eye as well, but not so many. It looks like he's weeping tapioca.
