My Life as a Child
Tue 5 Jul, 21:50 - 22:30 40 mins
Distant Dads
First in a new six part series aimed at adults, made entirely by children aged between 7 and 11.
Each child was given a camera and recorded their life over several months. The result is a unique and authentic insight into family life in Britain today, revealing an astonishing understanding of parental behaviour by children, and is an authentic portrait of childhood itself.
In this programme, three children travel abroad to visit their estranged fathers. Mary, nine, travels to Portugal to see her dad and his new partner. Kris, also nine, goes to Turkey to spend time with his father in Istanbul, and Ellen, seven, flies to Tokyo to see her British father who works there, and to meet his Japanese girlfriend. [S]
