my old boss had one. he went to London every few weeks for work. and also had a cottage in Wales as well (law firm equity partner!)

they're really winding me up. and sounds like he's got the best of the deal - swanning around in his london pad while she works fulltime and looks after the kid during the week.

I'm rather peed off personally.

We can't even afford to buy one house, and they're wiffling over two! A mere £500,000 budget!

We can't afford even the cheapest house in the area we want to live.

At least they can afford to give their child a good home if not homelife (him away all week.)

They did one of these relocation relocations near me. Couple were buying a house in Newcastle, and an apartment in Sheffield. I can see the apartment from mine They did put it up for sale a year back, bit appear to still be there and it isn't on the market anymore.

i read that they had a £700,000 'budget' and didn't even bother watching. that's just so far from reality for most folks. for most, that's not a 'budget', that's a f*ing miracle!

They wanted a house on Newcastle so they had somewhere for him to go with his son (who lived in Newcastle with his mum), so who knows???

I didn't like the house either. Too bleak and impersonal. Too big and too many bloomin' stairs. What did they do for a living.
Dh and I were saying we thought it was a horrible idea to not see each other during the week. I'd HATE to sit alone in the evenings night after night. We'd miss each other.
I suspect half these blokes are having affairs anyway. Grim, IMO.

house? we can't even afford an ex-council flat in this town! haahaa.

it'd be nice if they did more realistic couples. they did one up here that was awesome. the bloke was an architect and the woman had some other, ordinary job and they had a £150,000 'budget'. the couple was really flexible and willing to take on a fixer-upper. It was really nice to see them get a home.

I really cannot understand it, if they wanted a better standard of life down on the kent coast, they could have got it for alot LESS money and he wouldnt have to keep working in London. They were just looking for a bit of STATUS IMO

Did anyone else wonder why people wanted such a huge house - it sounds like a total nightmare (especially as there's only 3 of them), why would you want to rattle around in all that space. Made DH & I agree that our house is plenty big enough for us thank you very much (although secretly I would like somewhere to put an indoor swimming pool )
