watched the whole series and obviously they've left it open for another BUT why did the bloke who planted the bomb, feel the need to hunt Alex down in 2008 and shoot her? That's the bit I don't get? What was his motivation to shoot her?

Layton (the fellow what shot her) was the man who supplied her Dad with the bomb.

Evan (Mr beardy) didn't want Alex to know her Dad had planted to the bomb, and so they destroyed the tape in which Daddy confessed.

Layton was the only other person who knew, and he was a proper bad'un, druggie and down on his luck in 2008. He had been blackmailing Evan, and had been driven to the desperate measure of kidnapping Alex. Evan (who we presume was on the phone just before Alex was shot, but it's not conclusive) refused to succumb to the extra threat, and so Layton shot Alex.

So basically, he was a nutter, like.

what I want to know is - who was Alex married to? And was Layton's reference to marriage and a child of significance? Something for the next series I hope!
