Wasn't it awful

you would have thought it was the last in the series kind of episode

Normally I would have been crying my eyes out but was laughing instead as I had to pass DH a tissue!!!!!!

It was a bit harrowing.

It is about time they started putting some of the funnies back in, it has all been a bit depressing for a while. They could have had huge fun with the blow up doll in the last couple of weeks, but missed the opportunity.

And that Greg, he used to be quite funny, now, he is just boring. And Abs....

Think it is time to find something else on a Saturday night!

hasnt really had any romance in it for ages, like the regulars getting together

I still really enjoy it though

I do still enjoy it, largely for 'spotting' bits of Bristol. It was filmed on our street a few years back for the christmas special (filmed in August!), which was really interesting.

I think it is better when it is more about the incidents than the staff - Holby A&E has to be the most dangerous place in the country to work - you are VERY likely to be assaulted/murdered/kidnapped!!!

Someone had an accident, three people died one a child), one was injured, one was putting it on but was busted by Maggie and the imcompetent brunette doctor was painted without a face in a group collage (everyone else had faces) by a graffiti artist a la Banksy-style.

Think that's it .

Oh and Tess might lose her job since she shut the department and someone didn't have time to get to St James's.

Well, 'Banksy-style' graffiti artist fell off a bridge while Greg was trying to rescue him, but was ok, but caused major RTA, multiple vehicles, including little girl from previous week who had 'bonded' with Greg, she and her family were returning from tip to A&E to take Greg a thank you present, also in RTA was lorry carrying highly-hazardous chemicals. Mother died at scene, father taken in ambulance to hospital, girl seemed ok, but taken ill at Holby (due to inhalation of chemicals), died. Greg resigned.

Elderly man from crash diverted to St James' by Tess on Abs' advice, because of work to rule and dept being full, he died en route.

Banksy person (definitely a reference to Banksy, as he is Bristol artist, and similarities like not wanting to be seen) did graffiti picture of hospital staff, and included Ruth with no face.

That's pretty well it!

Casualty is now far too angsty and political to be considered entertainment.

I don't want to intellectually engage with some old shit I'm fond of spending Saturday nights with. And I could say the same of dp.

At this rate, I'll have to start watching Home and Away again.

Dear all,
The bit I liked was the woemn who came in with Braxton Hicks contractions. Why was she in casualty and not the maternity suite. Not that we saw much of her after the road traffic accident. I was out of the room when she came in and kept getting called in.

newbishad, she was maggie the consultants daughter (joanne i think) and they did take her up to maternity.
Maggie then said later that is was a false alarm brought on by a house move faling through.

If you click on the following link casualty Georgia Taylor who plays Ruth Winters explains in detail what happened - didn't want to spoil it for anybody who wants to watch again on bbciplayer.

IMO it was the best episode for a number of years, with superb acting that should win Georgia Taylor a lot of awards. I knew what was coming but was still shocked but I felt the whole issue was handled in a very sympathetic way.
