for Temptress. She looked like her whole world had ended bless her. What was wrong with her mother? Terrible name though.

Really liked Angela - think she will go a long way

notalone, I think her mothers problems may be connected to her being overly obese, as they didn't actually mention any illness...just that she can't breath well, which is a common sideffect when a person becomes to heavy for her body to physically cope with the weight. I know this sounds judgemental, but I would have thought that if it was an illness or disability they would have said more about what exactly is wrong...i.e. she has cancer or whatever...
And I agree Temtress is a horrible name...to me it screams "whore", shudder...but obviously the girl was nothing of the kind and very sweet.

How cruel of teh workmates of that tourguide bloke to tell him to apply for American Idol...surely they were taking the piss and trying to humiliate the guy, I mean there wasn't something quite right about that guy.

repeat repeat please! Can't believe I missed the start.

I need days and times so that I can sky+ it! Love American Idol.

Thinking about it 3andmore you are probably right. She was such a lovely girl though. The judges were great with her - including Simon

Did anyone watch the second part with that really weird bloke singing about stalking Paula. There seemed to be something very unhinged about him TBH.

Marslady - hey! I used to be on an American Idol thread years ago - we were the ones chanting Go Bo lol.

he was definately unhinged notalone...and so was that Social worker that believed he had to put out a message...his song sounded like somehting I heard on teh radio recently, a movement of youngsters against drugs...and they have a themesong, etc...

Forgot about him. Yes he was seriously strange too. Where on earth do these people come from?

I;m sorry but I never thought I'd get bored with AI but I am ... it's the same format year after year and it does get repetitive, you can see a mile off who's being set up and who's going to be any good and like the X Factor I think the good 'uns are dwindling now. I mean, Jordin was a lovely, lovely girl but she wasn't a superstar. Sure I'll watch a lot of it but the final 12 will have to be pretty special this time to keep me hooked
At least no sign of the deelster, let's hope that stays the same ...

I love American Idol ! Agree about Temptress (the least suitable name in the world ?!)- thought she was going to just be a figure of fun but ended up feeling quite for her..

Stalker guy was well weird.

Simon Cowell is genius.

Yay - my reality tv fix is back

Simon Cowell is great...at least he says it as it is, and I must admit, I mostly tend to agree with his opinion.
I thought he made quite a good point when he said, how weird it is for him to see that people so celebrate when someone they know gets through, etc....I mean, in this real it's a Party kind of way...it is a very american thing to do it that openly and "extreme"...

Thimk its great the way people are so genuinely happy for one another. Wish people could be more like that over here.

Ah good old Bo. Think he has made it quite big now. I also loved Chris Daughtry - remember him?

I must admit I never watched AI last year (I know I know , but was just wondering what it is with Cat Deeley? Why do you all dislike her so much?

TillyScoutsmum · 18/01/2008 14:08

Cat's just a bit ... sycophantic, arse licking, gurning, stating the bleedin obvious and annoying. Just don't really see the point of her "links". Shame, because I do normally like her (being a fellow Brummie and all)

Please tell me she didn't have a fake American accent??

Speaking of American Accents has anyone heard Michelle Ryan in Bionic Woman? Her accent is fab!

What were peoples' favourite years. I loved Fantasia and loads of others that season e.g. Jennifer Hudson, George Huff, the Hawaiian girls etc.

I like Cat but some of her interviews I speed through!

Love Chris Daughtry and wanted him to win.

Loved Reuben and Clay. Sadly nothing seemed to come of Clay and I have 2 albums by Reuben...the velvet teddybear!

I did actually like Carrie Underwood - thought she wss very American Princess but in a nice sweet way. Am not mad on her music but she does have an amazing voice.

Bo Bice was my all time fave and also Chris Daughtry who was also very easy on the eye too imo

Oh and how can I forget Kelly Clarkson. She is amazing and I have all her albums. I never watched that season of AI though and got into her afterwards.

notalone, yes, a little bit more open happyness would be nice...but must admit, I would be ratehr overwhelmed by such an "open show" as you can see in the american idol shows....but it certainly is a great personality trait

My favourite contestants over the years
season one- didn't really watch it, so no favourites there...but have heard Kelly Clarkson, and love her voice

season 2- don't thin I watched it much neither, lol!

season 3- watched, but had no favourites then!

Season 4 : liked both Bo Bice and Carrie Underwood

Season 5 : Most disliked Gedeon McKinney (shudder), Never knew why Kevin Covais even got through and then stayed quite long, liked Mandisa, Kellie Pickler, Paris Bennett and Katharine McPhee, absolutely adored Chris Daughtry (in my eyes he was the winner) and also really liked Elliot Yamin (who was my 2. favourit to win), didn't really get Taylor Hicks that much and didn't think he should have won

Season 6 : continouing to wonder what Sanjaya Malakar was doing there, lol; Lakisha Jones-absolutely fabulous Melinda- super, too, and so quirky to me either Lakisha or Melinda should have won!
