Hi,
As a family, we are really enjoying 'Race Across The World' and also liked 'Win the Wilderness'. Can anyone recommend some similar series? Our kids are 9, 12 and 14, so it needs to be suitable for everyone. We're finding it a nice way to end the day so would love some more suggestions.
Thanks!

We like Ed Stafford first man out, it's just finished but it must be on catch up somewhere?

If you can find it, the American version, Race Across the World, is really good.

What about Ch4's The Hunted. You might also like some of the Top Gear episodes, if you can set aside your opinions about the damage they caused in S America.

When I watched the first series of Race Across the World it made me think of Long Way Down and Long Way Round. I watched those years ago and loved them. And it's what made me love Ewan McGregor Grin

I was talking to DD last night about all of the old Michael Palin series, as she loves Race Across The World.
I adored the Michael P series Around The World in 80 Days series when i was younger, so going to try to find and watch again.

The Amazing Race.

American show
Million dollar prize

There are about 30 series. Inexplicably never picked up by a UK TV network apart from one series about 15 years ago which is when I saw it.
I now get DVDs sent by an American friend and don’t know where it can be found commercially, but it is fantastic. Race AroundThe World is poor relation really.😀

We loved the series Round the World in 80 Trades that was on a few years back. Link to Ep 1.

A young economist sells his London flat and uses the money to buy 'stuff' in one country then tries to sell it at a profit in another. So he buys coffee in Zambia then tries to sell it at a profit in South Africa. He sees how easy it is to get rich trading as he moves from country to country.

Sorry, I said Race Across the World when it’s The Amazing Race.

We rewatched the long way round just this last week! It has a load of swearing in it but on balance it is great family viewing, they showed such resilience and determination to get through it. I'm sure they had a pretty much open cheque book which makes it quite different to race across the world, however it was more of a physical challenge on the worlds most challenging terrains.

We’re also really enjoying both series of RATW (11, 9 and 6 year olds).

Our other family favourite is all the Ben Fogle Lives in the Wild series. Definitely try those!

We might have a look at Simon Reeves next.

Travel Man - 48 hours in... is quite good.

Richard Ayoade and a celebrity spend 48 hours in a tourist destination exploring its attractions, food etc.
