12 days of Christine (inside number 9) Bloody Hell!

Potential Spoilers!!!!!!

I've just got into Inside no. 9 A's I steadily make my way through Netflix during maternity leave. Love the series but this one absolutely floored me. I've been weeping on and off and sporadically kissing my ds's since and just can't shake it from my mind.

I'd put off watching this one as my sister had a similar reaction and warned me it freaked her out but I thought she meant it was scary, not heartbreaking and traumatic in such a raw way.

I just wanted to chat about it really but I appreciate the series is not current now Smile

Ahh love Inside Number 9.

Yes the 12 Days on is really sad , I didn't watch any spoilers before so it was whoah when I watched it. I recently watched a few episodes again (12 days/ Nanas Party/ Cold Comfort)

I need to rewatch the art gallery one
Have you seen the Hotel one and the Bernie Cliftons Dressing Room (series 4) they are brilliant ................and there will be a Series 5

BTW Steve Pemberton is SO mine .(Just so we're straight on that)

It’s a real heartbreaker that episode, so well written and acted.

I think that was the best one. It was excellent.

Yep, I had the same reaction when I watched it. It's brilliant but harrowing. It has always stated with me.

@70isaLimitNotaTarget haha! He's all yours!

I've still got so many to watch. I haven't seen any of the ones you suggested in your post yet. I've seen the sleeper train one, the call centre , the witch one and the seance. Looking forward to some some more Netflix binging on it soon but not in the middle of the night!

I didn't see the twist in 12 days at all. I was convinced it was a ghost/stalker ex most of the way through and queried dementia towards the end.

I watched it live to air (so ages ago and no spoilers) and it STILL haunts me, more regularly than you would think! I was absolutely bloody terrified for most of it (don't do ghost stuff well) and then the real emotional hit at the end Shock

Only saving grace is I didn't yet have DC when I saw it, or I would have probably 🐝 even more wrecked by it.

I too still think about it periodically. DH hasn’t seen it yet and I’m going to watch it again but this time I’ll know what’s happening. I wept for about half an hour after watching the first time. Sheridan Smith was spectacular!

Half an hours weeping isn't too bad. I honestly couldn't shut off the tears on and off for the rest of the day Sad.

Sheridan Smith is an incredible actress.

That’s so funny, it’s my least favourite episode by a mile. I found it a bit dull compared to the others.

I love the art gallery one, and the one with the babysitter and the brother upstairs Shock

My favourite is the train journey with the dead body though, absolute genius!

Steve Pemberton is so talented and and fantastic in everything I’ve seen him in. One of Britain’s greatest.

Oh I love the train one too but then I'm a big Jack Whitehall fan anyway Grin

An odd comparison but does anyone remember Futurama? (Same animation as the Simpsons). There was an episode called The Sting which deviated away from the usual Simpsons style comedy where a lead character had to come to terms with her best friend dying whilst he tried to save her life. You see her slowly unraveling into insanity and guilt and as she increasingly has dreams about him they all end with her friend telling her to just wake up.

Spoiler alert... she finally does wake up from a coma and her friend is alive and sitting by her bedside telling her he's been begging her to wake up for weeks. This episode has a similar effect on me.

Steve P has such expressive eyes , they can go from letch to guilt to despair to outright liar in a blink.

If you liked 12 Days then you need to watch Bernie Cliftons Dressing Room.

That is an amazing episode!

I love how they manage to pack so much into half an hour of tv and have each one so unique.

Have you seen the Christmas special?

I have never seen an episode of Number 9 before today, when i accidentally clicked on this thread and the discussion intrigued me! I've justwatched the 12 days of Christine episode on Youtube and was very impressed and shed a tear or two at the end. I must watch them all now!!

It's so sad. The call centre one sticks with me and the one from the most recent series with the photographer and his downstairs office (trying not to give away spoilers! )

I really enjoyed the restaurant 'splitting the bill' one. Really clever.

Bernie Clifton's dressing room was so well done, too.

Oh yes, that was a good one. I also love the silent one with the two burglars stealing the painting. The range and skill of the writers'/actors' knowledge of genres and conventions is so impressive.

That painting one was very funny, especially the ending.

That was the first one I watched and I sobbed for an hour, despite not liking Sheridan Smith all that much.
The Krampus one is something else

I watched all of them earlier in the year when I was signed off sick. 12 Days... is a heartbreaker for sure! I really enjoyed the one from the latest series with the two 80s comedians back for one final show.

Glad I’m not the only one who finds Steve Pemberton sexy. Worryingly though I think I find him most sexy as Mr. Jelly. Which is just wrong.

I liked a couple of the jokes in the splitting the bill one.
"He's so mean, when he opens his wallet the Queen blinks."
"He's so mean he's still got one pound notes with Isaac Newton in his wallet"

I really enjoyed the witch trial one too!
