Patronising little shit, wasn't he?

Glad someone else thought so!! He was awful wasn't he? There are always one or two who are rather over opinionated but he was really annoying!

what a total f*ckwit! and PLEASE....sort the accent out...it was so affected as to be laughable. he was awful!

the title of his book says it all really...my favourite bit...actually there were two: first when the bloke asked him which was the next country in the area which he felt we should invade similarly as it is the 'right thing to do' and 'works'. and the best bit of all was when the rather dishy in a slightly brideshead revisited way bloke really told them whatfor and won a huge huge round of applause...

and as for caroline flint!!! she really was appallingly thick wasn't she.....not exactly an advert for quotas.

we thought that too - decided between us (DH and I that is) that he was a selfrighteous, pompeous prick and switched off by 11pm......

It wasn't so much him as Caroline Flint who seemed to live in an entirely different universe and rolled her eyes in a grimace whenever anyone dared say anything against our beloved leader and his government. Loved how the audience treated her.

Douglas Murray, never heard of him before, will probably never hear from him again.

Sorry, meant to say "of him", he wouldn't contact me, I don't have marbles in my mouth and say "pardon."

Oh I'm so glad others thought he was a tit too. I was shocked how he kept interrupting Douglas Hurd and that DD did nothing to stop him. Poor DH struggled to get a single sentence out at one point without DM jumping on him.

I thought his accent was very affected and consequently totally ignored anything he had to say.

I'd turned the programme on after it started and didn't know who the lady panellist was, but told DH that she was clearly a Blair Babe - so have been proved right.

Freckle · 27/04/2007 21:07

Oops, sorry. DH in the first sentence refers to Douglas Hurd. DH later on refers to my beloved!

I was wondering who he was as well, only watched the last ten minutes, am about to catch up online but he still managed to wind me up!

Did you see that picture of Patricia Hewitt in the papers this week? Taken when she was younger and omg (and not in a good way), can't remember what paper it was but it was featured on The Wright Stuff.

Not that image is important(ish) but if I had a photo like that I'd have burned it.

Scratch that, I have fugly years rather than days, I have had photos like that, not anymore!

Report
Freckle · 27/04/2007 23:11

That's not amusing. It's deeply scary.

I am not sure if it has been tampered with in some way!! It will keep me amused tomorrow in my long morning of canvassing!

sorry to hijack this thread- just v curious (and a bit homesick): TwoIfBySea, are you a Boston girl, born and bred?

Report
nachomama · 28/04/2007 00:11

JUst had a look at the hand gesture pic. Says it all really.

TwoIfBySea · 30/04/2007 22:34

nacho, no unfortunately but I spent one of the best years of my life living in Cape Ann (Magnolia to be precise.) If I had to live in America I could think of nowhere better, Boston isn't like a city but lots of little villages, very friendly.
