Did anyone see this? It's a really crass title, but it came on Channel 5 after something I was watching and I always liked him in Glee so I thought I'd watch it.

I was shocked to hear what a bad time he'd had with drug and alcohol abuse in his younger years - marijuana, cocaine, heroin, crystal meth - to the point where he lived on the street for a while and very nearly died of an overdose. And after all that he still managed to get clean and find fame. It sounds like he never managed to completely escape his demons though. All the fame and money, and he must have been struggling to get through every day without anyone knowing. Addiction is such a terrible thing. So, so tragic.Sad

I haven't seen it but I loved Glee and was so saddened by his death. He seemed so nice and was clearly so loved by the cast. The tribute episode was heartbreaking. I think it's not uncommon for addicts who are clean to overdose if they relapse because they will have been so used to large doses from before. It's such a waste and so very sad.

That's exactly the conclusion they came to Brickbeard. He'd recently left rehab and the alcohol and heroin that he took on the night was just too much for his body to handle after being clean.

I can't stop thinking about the programme. I had no idea he'd had such a battle with addiction. You just never know what tragedy lies behind the Hollywood smiles.
