Cordon.

seemed like a Flemish cross between The Returned and Under the Dome with quite a lot of Contagion thrown in.

Enjoyable but I cant help but think it looks really easy to escape the cordon.

Yes I thought that too. Quite enjoyed it though. What a strange school trip! Bet she wished she had gone to the Zoo!

I watched the first episode but wasn't grabbed enough to bother watching any more.

I'm enjoying reading the subtitles while also understanding the dialogue. And trying to figure out what the Dutch subtitles would have been (there would have been subtitles, because of the quite strong accents and because there are always subtitles).
I can say that I went on some equally bizar school trips as a child in Flanders: brewery, aged 8, port of Antwerp aged 13 and bustrip around the country to look at various types of earth and stone, aged 16 are just a few favourites.
And no way that by that age those children haven't been on a school trip to the zoo, they've probably been every year.

Watched the first episode and gave up. Too many plot holes for me. Bring back Young Montalbano or the Bridge.

Agree fussychica. I love those two programmes, and the original Montalbano as well.

I watched the 1st 2 episodes on BBc iplayer. I enjoyed it & will be watching again tonight.

I'm loving it. I don't normally bother with programmes with subtitles (as I like to knit or crochet so look away from the screen a lot) but I thought the plot sounded good and I'm glad I gave it a go.

We watched one of last nights episodes and will watch another later in the week.
The ridiculous useless gloves are somewhat irritating!

Yes the gloves are irritating me too - everyone is rubbing their eyes and mouths with them, which kind of defeats the point.

Really enjoying it though and love the character development.

Yes, I thought that about the gloves Bill. If you're worried enough about catching it to wear gloves all the time, why would you then rub them all over your face!

Just found this on the iplayer the other day and am quite enjoying it, despite the lack of decent looking foreign totty Grin. It's kind of downmarket and weird - one or two of the characters could pass as zombies no bother - the female politician with the hand gestures, the bonkers teacher and the fat kid are all a bit alien. I'll stick with it in the absence of higher quality Scandi stuff.

Yes another Cordon fan here - taken a few episodes to really get going but I really like it now. So sad that teacher lady's going to cork it especially after her 'shower lovin' with Jokke.

Interesting premise though, how to contain an outbreak in a busy city, and how to manage people's fear so society doesn't totally break down (failing miserably on that one, government lady that looks a bit like a European Meryl Streep).

Am guessing that Lex's girlfriend makes it though - just.

First thing me and DD said when watching episode 1 was "Bet the Americans do a remake". Turns out they already are. Trailers on youtube already - typically the Dr is now a baddie English guy and everyone is much younger and more glamorous!
Oh and if you thought the sea containers were not the most effective Cordon. the US one has an electrified fence - how does tha marry with the whole "cut off from the rest of society" part of the story???

Really enjoyed this overall. Liked the way there was still plenty left to the imagination at the end.

I think it paved the way for a 2nd series. I was disappointed in

  1. Jokke & Ine getting infected.
  2. Lommers going down the route of making Lex look like he'd lost it & referring him to a psychiatrist.
  3. Canaeert's (sp?) casual disregard for his monumental cock up.

I was glad Lex went with Jana at the end. Although I don't think he had a lot of choice, really.
I'm not really looking forward to seeing the American remake. It'll be very glossy.

I really liked this too - surprised there hasn't been more attention paid to it.

I did think Jana being a data recovery expert was going to recover the files deleted off Lex's computer but I quite like the ambiguity of the ending.

I'm watching this on catch up, I'm quite enjoying it. I fear that any US remake will be grim. Although I did enjoy Between on Netflix which has some similarities in plot.
