She really was great . I loved her Maria song. Didnt realise the group had split so disasterously.

I watched it - was not planning on it but got sucked it. I had no idea of the nastiness history either. Or the excessive drug use.

I did. nothing else on now CBBS finished and like Martin wasn't going to watch it but started and was quite interesting.

Jimmy looks awful. he was one of my teenage crushes back then.

how desperate was (gone blank on name) the other guy to play on stage with them?

I used to love them back in the day and wanted to look like Debby Harry!

Chris has aged well and the other one looks like Anthony Head now!

didn't know drugs were involved so much though.

Recorded it and watched it this afternoon. Really good programme. Glad it wasn't just me who spotted the Anthony Head likeness. Grin

What what what?? Was it a new documentary?

I'm not sure. I've never seen it before. Didn't think to check the date on the credits.

Look up Chris Stein, his eldest child looked about three in the documentary. :)

Ah ok, just looked and it's one I already have from 2006. Yes, Akira must be 10 or 11 now.

I didn't know Deb was in her THIRTIES when they made it, she looked so young!

looked good in anything but yellow!

I had seen it before and grew up listening to Blondie.
You do get sucked in, such a shame about the feud but money and sales of records was the downfall of many groups and bands.

I remember dad buying me Parrallel lines lp at the ideal home exhibition! don't know why they sold records there but I got it for enduring walking round wherever it was for hours!

then playing lp over and over with my hair messed up, and standing on the bottom step of the stairs with a hairbrush pretending to be Debby Harry! and Mark hammily was in the audience gazing adoringly at me!

oh the days of yore!

Mark Hammil. fingers ran amok then!

I adored Parallel Lines. Must've been 14 or 15 and could never understand what Debbie Harry saw in Chris Stein. Looking back, he was very, very attractive.

agree Moomin, where I used to like Jimmy I think Chris was okay too and has aged the best.

Clem reminds me of Maccartney now with the sagging jowls!

It was fascinating. I think I love her even more than I did.

That Hall of Fame induction evening though - excruciating.

And I've had that In The Flesh song as an earworm ever since.

My recording failed but I've seen it a couple of times. I met Clem last year before a Blondie gig, he wandered in from outside and came to talk to the t shirt seller. He was lovely and very patient of a mad woman (me) making him stand for photos.
If I met Debbie I might faint Blush

I will have to watch this on iPlayer, Debbie Harry is a hero of mine.

I'll also keep an eye out for the FM doc, there was a brilliant interview with Stevie Nicks and Christine McVie in the Guardian recently, so would love to see more about them.
