DH and I Sat and watched this tonight and we both wondered when they actually filmed it Hmm

Rather close to a certain news item at the moment and seemed strange it wasn't the whole cast in it.

Did anyone else think the same

That's why they didn't show it last week, it was actually ep 9 not 10. and was closer to the other news item last week about the care home which came up again.
I think they where looking for a care home angle which wasn't about race and unwittingly stumbled on another story.

Yep, sorry Grin think they will do 8 more episodes and that's it.
Alun Armstrong said that the writers had made his character boring plus he said in an interview that the cast rewrite scripts. This pissed off the writer who tweeted his displeasure and Alun quit after that

tBH I think this series has been really slow . I don't know why but I just can't engage with it like I did before . My husband can't stand Amanda Redman and usually moans about her all the way through the programme so tonight I didn't even have that distraction .

Thanks Coco shame to hear that I thought his character had some ok story lines this series.

Flora I thought that a couple of series ago but enjoyed this series. Maybe because it doesn't normally take much concentration and I can MN as normal Grin

I thought the last 3 episodes have been really good. I like Denis Lawson in it but DH hates him and complains the whole way through it.

I don't mind the new bloke but I think the dynamic has just changed .

I love New Tricks but the last few episodes have definitely changed in the way they were filmed. It used to be much more focussed on the characters' relationships, which was half the fun of watching it, and was a bit more of a light hearted take on policing/murders.

They're doing a lot more "flashbacks" and showing us scenes that none of UCOS actually witnessed, which makes it much more like other police dramas and for me, much less enjoyable. I liked that it wasn't CSI-ified!

It feels like a new writing team Ticket especially the last two episodes.

Wasn't so sure about Dennis Lawson to start off with but he's grown on me. I don't miss Bolam and I thought I would.

i dont know, obiovuslky topical but a lot of fiction particularly 70s based can be connected to dodgy goings on such as this.
i thought too it was leading to a series with just denis waterman and denis lawson but i liked it before. this latest series is just so crap

I do miss Bolam a bit but quite like Lawson. Can anyone tell me what it going on with his collar up and the motif bit showing at the back?

I like Denis Lawson and think he's settled into his role really well. I've almost forgotten about James Bolam's character now Blush.
