Did no one else watch the final finale last night? I was sorry not to find Julius Nicholson was behind the whole Malcolm-skewering.

Yes, I watched it!

I need to watch the whole series again. It is brilliant. When Tucker was describing how he lives with the job and what it does to him ...

I only started watching it this series and am so sad that I was unaware of it before this year. Tis one of the only things I've looked forward to and the Great British Bake Off for gentle winding down rubbish telly

Any recommendations for programmes of a similar calibre? Or even better, anyone know where I can watch the first two series? Grin

Ooh, you need to get the box set. And the specials. It's all brilliant, and leads up so perfectly to last night's final meltdown. (Glenn has previous when it comes to delivering excellent 'voice of reason' meltdowns.)

I'm not sure I completely buy the idea of Malcolm being careless enough to let those Tickell details be visible to the press, while he was standing next to the very person he'd arranged to be stitched up by the photographers though. That's the only bit that felt a bit deliberately plotted; I was wondering if it was a smokescreen for something else? Or if he hadn't actually arranged the photographers at all, as he'd claimed. I need to watch the whole series again - there's always things I miss, because it's so quick and clever.

I know, it seemed planned. Who did Malcolm actually get the the Tickell data from?

I think he got it from Nicola's aide, Helen, didn't he? In the Quiet Bat People episode?

I'm going to watch it again!

Malcolm always has dirt on everyone. And the next coalition is expected to be Lab-Lib. Is that significant? Will Malcom rise like a Phoenix?

Well the thing is, Malcolm could have got it from Dan in the quiet Bat people, as he was chatting to Dan behind Nicola's back in that episode. It could even of been how Malcolm leaked those details?
I think Dan wanted rid of Malcolm, and could have been behind a lot of it.

Ah ha! Malcolm has the goods on Dan for future use?

I loved Glenn's rant 'six-toed pony fuckers' is a term I will try to use to describe torys from now on.

Does anyone know if there's a repeat on this week?

It's on i-player.

I may have to watch as much as possible on iplayer as I only realised it was back on very late into the series.

Was crying with laughter at Stewart's parting speech though, ""You know, I've spent ten years detoxifying this party. It's been a bit like renovating an old, old house, yeah? You can take out a sexist beam here, a callous window there, replace the odd homophobic roof tile, but after a while you realise this renovation is doomed because the foundations are built upon what I can only describe as a solid bed of cunts."
