Why is Kate from Neighbours so irresistible?

I'm back ranting about my pet peeve from Neighbours (yes, I know, I need a life).
Now that guitar kid is in love with Kate. WHY????? There is no way that would happen in real life.

I just don't get why they pitch her as the sweet innocent girl no man can resist. She doesn't have the looks or personality to play that part. She's also surprisingly bitchy and self-entitled- she was annoyed that doctor-guy had ignored her when she'd turned him down the week before, she couldn't admit to a one night stand because as she told Jade unlike her, people 'didn't see her that way'. Nice back handed way to call your BFF a slut!

She's also constantly belittling Sophie's interest in music to everyone in front of poor Sophie....

Argh! She drives me insane. Worse is I can't tell if the writers want us to think she's wonderful or the most unlikeable character possible.

I was just wondering this today! They seem to introduce random hot men into Neighbours just for them to fall in love with Kate, the most boring woman in Australia! God, Neighbours is so terrible, but I always look on here for a nice Neighbours thread I can read!!

Haha you read my mind! I just ranted about this on the other Neighbours thread! Shiny-face Kate is soo annoying! And it doesn't make sense that all the hot guys find her attractive, why not Jade? She's much more appealing looks wise and personality.

Don't watch Neighbours but just did an image search for Kate from Neighbours and I think she's lovely looking

It's more her character Mama. In real life, all done up, she's gorgeous.

In the soap they dress her very plainly, verging on frumpy. She's dull as dishwasher and terribly asexual. And yet all the men love her.

most characters I can learn to like Jade/tash, but she just irritates me.

she pulled the cop AND the doctor! Both hot, both great boyfriend potential. But no. Kate is too good for them. Then gets on her high horse about them being mean to her.

My new theory on Kate is that they felt they needed a new teenage female (to replace soon-to-be-deceased Bridget) but also a middle-aged dull character (Susan kennedy obv too exciting for them). They couldnt afford 2 actresses so they combined the characters into one.

Haha that's a good theory beachholiday! She is quite like Susan K, nosy and interfering.
Im getting annoyed that even when she's not on todays episode I still have to be confronted with her shiny face at the end. And why did they choose Paul and Kate to announce the comp? They are not the 2 most liked characters!

Actually from what I understand Kate is a v popular character... I guess that's why she's getting all the guys?
