Eurocrime fans - quick question about Spiral?

Hi folks,

I'm fresh from finishing The Killing and I hear Spiral is a good follow-on drug. I'm a couple of episodes into the first series and I'm just wondering is it always very gruesome or is this as bad as it gets? I am a big murder fan and can handle a mutilated corpse with the best of them, but the baby scene was really tough.

I don't want to Google because I had a bit of The Killing spoiled that way so I thought I'd ask you lovely people. Rotting corpses are A-OK but if there's more baby stuff I might give it a miss.

Hoping this is as gory as it gets because I really want to keep watching the lovely Pierre!

Is this Spiral 1 2 or 3?

Can't remember much of the detail of 1 and 2, but 3 has gruesome bits all through. don't remember any babies though.

Spiral 1. I thought I'd start at the beginning. The baby is killed by the nanny?

It's really only the baby thing, I can handle bad things happening to adults.

Have watched all of series 3 and am on episode 11 of series 1. So far there has been lots of mutilated women, a few dead men and the dead baby. I have found so far that its the stuff left to my imagination that disturbs me more. I'm very good at hiding the screen, other than the subtitles, when the gory bits are shown.

It's the subtitles that get me! Usually I just look away but my French isn't good enough to follow what's going on without reading the subtitles!

I've seen all of Spiral and I'm almost sure there are no more dead children. Those episodes were really tough. It's all dead adults from there, as far as I can remember.
