I don't watch this but I am bawling my eyes out!

I take it this is assisted suicide? How will the mum and I presume boyfriend get away with it?

I find it sad in a way as it was a bit of a predictable story line but very well acted.

I watch it when I can - tonight's was heartbreaking. Assisted suicide is such a controversial subject and I am sure Emmerdale will get hammered for a/tackling it and b/tackling it wrong BUT each case is unique. To some, being paralysed from the neck down whilst in their early twenties would be something they would eventually learn to cope and live with, for others it would not be. Pauline Quirke is a wonderful actress who portrayed a mother who brought a child into the world and then "assisted" in him leaving it.

Yes, I sobbed tonight as well.

It has been a very well played out storyline, very heartbraking. All three characters, brilliant.

I suggested last year that this was how the storyline was going to be played out, think it was a good subject to broach.

Very very sad, I was crying too. Incredibly believable acting, I am ashamed to say when she first appeared in Emmerdale, I doubted Pauline Quirk's ability to act in anything remotely serious but she was brilliant this evening. I also wonder what the public/media reaction to this particular storyline will be.

I thought all 3 were brilliant too, what were they giving him to drink?

Very well acted for the most part.

I agree with everyone. I think the acting for the whole storyline was superb and very believable. Sad to see Jackson's character go though. Could totally empathise with his position - I couldn't imagine life changing that much especially when in early twenties.

Wow, I wouldn't normally rate soap acting but Pauline Quirke was amazing. I still wish I hadn't seen it though, so sad. I know it's only TV but she did such a great job it was hard to remember that.

Utterly lost for words. It was amazing and terrible at the same time and their acting was wonderful and heartbreaking.

I was choked when she was singing "Dream a little Dream" to him, I have always sung this to DS from being tiny and could just feel it, her singing to her boy.

I hope they aren't berated too much for this story. The acting from all 3 of them has been astounding.

I think that's the thing, regardless of it being a soap and obviously not real you really got that sense that in that moment she was a mum losing her baby, heartbreaking.

Don't usually watch but sat and sobbed tonight.

Pauline Quirke was amazing, her singing at the end got me so much.

Heartbreaking.

I'm now officially in awe of Pauline Quirke - and amazing acting from all (will miss the dynamic betwen the three of them).

Agree Ashbury. This storyline has given them a wonderful opportunity to show their acting skills (and they have in bucketloads). The downside being that a brilliant relationship will end.

Danny Millar deserved his Best Actor award but Marc Silcock and Pauline Quirke should not go unrecognised.

< running fast, far too invested > Smile
