did you watch the origibal series of the Monastery panic, thats what made me want to go and do a retreat, despite not being particularly religious.

Im loving how the entepreneur (sp?) guy is trying to be all 'I dont believe in all this shit' and is now 'walking with jesus' Grin

Yes I did, and found it fascinating. I went to a Catholic boarding school and we did our fair share of retreats. Did you go to Worth as a result of The Monastery?

Yes I did, had never entertained the thought of a retreat before that. Have been several times since (retreats for helth workers, autumn retreats, private retreats and finding sanctuary). Am going to try another one next year, not sure I could do the Silence thing though

Sounds fantastic. But then my perspective is slightly skewed by having 4 DCs under 7 - the thought of a week of silence is heavenly - but I think the reality would be very different!

yes I know what you mean, I have 3 and the thought of a week in silence initially sounds like pure bliss but I think would be quite hard with no phone, txts or email after a day or two

Just seen ep3 on sky recorder, then watched eps1 & 2 on iplayer.

Really intrigued. Esp. by the notion that people always find God when they put their minds to it. The two women jointly grieving for their lost fathers was very moving.

Friend of mine has been on a 10-day budhist silent retreat. Got lots of impressions of how it was for him, but these things are individual, n'est-ce pas.

anyone lese with silence experience.
