Depression and School

My DD is suffering from depression and after many months has finally been prescribed medication and has started one to one therapy. However since Easter I have been unable to get her into school and she has her A level exams coming up. I understand that the medication may make her worse before she gets better but I can see her throwing away her last two years hard work. I'm at my wits end but can't see how to get her into school. Any ideas?

It may be better for her to defer and take her exams in January or next summer. Can you get advice from her therapist and teachers? I would also bring it up with your daughter and see how she wants to proceed. There are valid reasons for her delaying her final exams so if you speak to the school, her work over the last few years will not be wasted.
