how do you deals with teens who forget to switch off gas, leave tv, lights on, don't always lock front door, open garden doors in cold weather no care if the heating is on etc.
if i ask my teen anything to be considerate, i just get a cold mouthful. tried to put up with for so long but getting fed up now.

Do stuff like forget to hang there washing out, forget to pick there socks up off the floor, forget that they wanted a lift too there friends house until they have to text you about it, forget to buy there favoured food item from Tesco's during your weekly shop, etc etc

They are costing you more so need to pay back. Stop lifts, new clothes etc. Sell gadgets.

Brat behaviour needs dealing with.

thanks - he already does not ask me for any help or lifts - as he goes to his grandparents who always cave into his requests easily.
i stopped doing his clothes a few years back when he would not help hang them out or fold away - as always glued to xbox.
He does not always forget to switch things off/put away but cannot be relied upon. Yes he is costing me both time and headache.
Is he interested or bothered? no.
On my new house i will have to spend more installing security system to ensure he has locked the house each day.
