Can anyone recommend a book for DS

DS1 is a keen reader, he's ploughed through all the goosebumps books he got for Christmas and he's read all the current foray of a wimpy kid books and he's read all the Harry potters. He's 12 but younger (behaviour and emotionally) i think than his peers.
Can anyone recommend a new book series for him to try?

The Alex Rider series (Anthony Horowitz) and the Percy Jackson series (Rick Riordan) or has he already read them?

My son, who has also read the books mentioned above, loves the 'Timmy failure' range of books and also the Jedi academy books (both have funny illustrations as in the 'wimpy kids' books and my ds finds them hilarious)
Has he read any 'skullduggery pleasant' books? They are another good bet.

I forgot to say he's read the David Walliams books! Thanks for all the suggestions, I'll get a few for him to try out.

Middle School series is, I think, similar to Wimpy Kid.

Hendersons boys and the Cherub books. DS loved them in about Y7.

The Mysterious Bendedict Society books by Trenton Lee Stewart are very good, and I think they are aimed at 10-12 year olds.
