Thankful for Christmas day

I just want to put it on record that we had a really, really good Christmas day. All five members of family and one visitor spent whole day together - no TV, phones or computers, no one holed up in bedroom, no cross words or strops, lots of laughing and talking (and eating) and acceptable amounts of alcohol. When the 3 older adults finally went to bed at 1am my 3 DCs stayed up playing silly games and talking to each other till 4am. I'm not crowing, or trying to make anyone else feel bad about their Christmas. Anyone who's seen my other posts will know that we are a far from perfect nightmare family and we've had a pretty awful year. Just wanted to acknowledge that we had one, near perfect day and be grateful, whatever happens next. Now back to being dysfunctional...

Great to acknowledge it.

We too had a great Christmas. Teens slept with DD3 (9) and didn't moan at being woken up at 7am. They all spent all day with us, lots of games, helped with dinner, entertained us all and were really grateful for their (fairly modest) presents. A lovely day.
