Almost 15 yr old ds erratic behaviour

My ds who is almost 15 has been having outbursts of erratic behaviour recently. I attended the gp last week for advice but she said it sounded hormonal and not necessary for a referral to CAMHS. However until tonight I hadn't really seen it ( only been showing this behaviour in 2 classes) which made me think there is a choice in it. Tonight after a 2 hour stand off I am drained and feeling a bit lost, any suggestions/advice would be greatly appreciated.

IME 14-15 is the most difficult age.

Give her a good quality multi-vitamin and mineral supplement for women of child-bearing age. Good brands include biocare, higher nature, solgar, viridian, quest, nutri-advanced.

Could you tell us about the "2 hour stand off"? No wonder you feel drained. It's easy to say, but avoid arguments. Teenage girls of your DD's age love to argue and enjoy the drama. They have far more energy for it than we do. You don't 'win' arguments with teenagers. You just make them more determined to go their own way and stoke their feelings of being misunderstood/being controlled etc.

Could you explain how her behaviour is "erratic"? It's hard to know what to advise without more detail as teenagers tend to be erratic anyway.

Blush

Sorry OP. Probs best not to give him a supplement for women of child-bearing age then.....

Now I'm doubly embarrassed as I came back to this thread to try to link to a MN thread offering free copies of a book called something like, 'Understanding the teenage brain' with reference to the "erratic" behaviour of teenagers. But I can't find it again.

But it sounds like it might be helpful.
