Birthday Ideas for 13 Year Old Twins?

Want to have a proper celebration for my DD2 and DS3 13th birthday (birthdays!) and I'm suddenly at a loss as to what to do for it. I don't think they're especially bothered but they're my youngest and I feel like this is the last birthday they'll tolerate spending time with us primarily so maybe I'm getting all misty in wanting to do something special. As a twin, I know the difficult balance between celebrating them together but also as separate people. Always used to do outdoorsy gender-neutral things when they were younger (they are a boy and a girl) and I can't really remember what I did for my other DC's 13ths! Hmm

Any advice would be appreciated!

Is ice skating 'cool' these days? They would certainly have a laugh watching me and DH fall over!

Paint balling or laserquest, spent yesterday helping a friend deliver and collect excited 13 year olds of both sexes and from the comments they all loved it!

Ice skating is definitely cool!

Or bowling? Or paintballing (painful!)

Where do you live, OP? I think we did the London Eye when DD turned 13.

Yes we are in Islington that could work. Thinking of a family affair and a seperate event for their friends as might get a bit crowded otherwise

All go on a Segway experience. They are supposed to be a good laugh and the in thing to do.

Karting?

But paintball and laserquest are pretty good fun if they're the active sort.

There's also a place near us that does clay pigeon and target shooting from age 12 and you can get a package day out.

Forest/adventure segway sounds cool, Go Ape do those I think.

And ice skating is a good idea, or going to see an ice hockey game?

A driving experience. Think DD did her 13th at Mercedes World. They can drive ordinary cars around a laid out road system, complete with roundabouts, traffic lights etc or a 4 wheel drive across rough terrain.

I would second a driving lesson. Can't remember the name if the company but they do it the top floor of the car park at brent cross. Ds did it and had a ball.
