How was your experience finding a halloween costume for your DD?

Hi everyone. I hope I'm allowed to post this here - if not please let me know, and I will delete.

I'm actually a University student, but have always been disappointed with the costumes available to teenagers and women ever since I started going to costume parties at about 13. I've always thought there is a lack of costumes that aren't designed to be 'sexy'. I'm interested in improving the options for teenage girls and young women.

I would love to know about your experiences about finding suitable costumes for your DD, and if you struggle to find something both age-appropriate and that she likes! I've designed a short market research survey - shouldn't take more than 5 minutes to complete.

I would really appreciate if you could respond here: www.surveymonkey.com/s/DJBQFNZ or let me know about your experiences by commenting. Thanks very much, and hope you had a good halloween!

In my limited experience teenagers make up their own. They are very creative with make up though. Yesterday DD just wore a black fluffy jumper and black skinny jeans, but she did some fangtastic vampire makeup and wore a choker and fake nose ring, so she ended up looking like a vampire goth.

I held a Halloween themed day at our drama classes. The teens mostly made their own costumes customising black tutu skirts with stripy tights/legwarmers or ripping white shirts & staining them red.

DD showed me some Facebook photos of girls from her school all wearing sexy fairy tale fancy dress costumes. I don't see the point myself.
