Gerbil just did a happy dance (I think??)

We've had a pair of gerbils for a couple of weeks now, both have settled well and seem very happy to be handled, interact etc. One is definitely more adventurous and active than the other, and has bags of personality. I've just checked on them before going to bed for the night, and the active one popped out to say hello. I offered her a pumpkin seed, which she took from me in her mouth, then spun round in a 180 circle, waving her tail, came to rest facing me again, sat back on her hind legs, and transferred it to her paws. She didn't start eating it straight away, and I swear she was smiling (I realise how that sounds) Blush. We have seen her do lots of the behaviours that Google tells me are signs of happiness or contentment (washing, up on back legs with paws apart, she has even given me a nose rub), but I can't find any sign of this "happy dance". Has anyone else seems their furball do this, or is it just coincidence?

Apologies if I sound ever so slightly batty. I haven't had a pet since I was a kid, and I love those little furry bundles Grin

Omg, she did it again this morning! I will try to video it next time I give her a treat. It's tempting to just give her loads of treats but it's really bad for them so I'd best not Grin

Are you sure you haven't got Stuart Little in that cage? Lol, so cute. We have a little grey hamster and he's just adorable, he comes out when he hears us about and rattles his bars and doesn't stop until we give him loads of nibbles! My favourite thing is when I've just cleaned his cage out, watching him go crazy arranging it all, he's like a busy little bee! Amazing how lovely those tiny little creatures can give us so much joy haha

If she wags her tail at you it means you've got a sassy gerbil! She's trying to look scary so nobody will take her seed off her.

She's done it again! Just the turn around bit, before she started wolfing the seed down 😁 How do I attach a video?

The only experience of gerbils was a mass murder /suicide scene.
Returned to a friend's home after shopping to all 3 dead and in bits. Sorry for tmi but they were all males and obviously not suited living together.... Looking forward to a happy video though op. Maybe alter my views!
