Advice for guinea pig boarding?

We have 2 boys (4 years old) and we're going away for a fortnight soon and looking at having to board them unfortunately as our usual holiday minders have either just had babies or got dogs.

I'm just a little worried as our pigs are house pigs and don't go outside much except for summertime if we're in the garden too or when I'm cleaning out there cage. All boarding looks to be outside, do you think they'll be ok?

Whereabouts are you? I know quite a few boarding places which offer indoor options. All the ones I've checked have hutches indoors and then outdoor runs, so all pets are in at night and in bad weather.

I'd visit the boarding place first (they should have no problem with you doing this) and get a feel for the set up. Or do you have any neighbours/family/friends who'd give them a bit of space in their home for a couple of weeks? I've done this for friends' pigs before (and didn't want to give them back because they were tidy pigs, unlike my messy crew).

The boarding our piggies go to have long hutches inside wooden sheds.
IIRC a mesh door to ventilate and indoor + outdoor pens depending on weather.

Phone up and ask what the accomodation is, I'd say indoor pigs are more common than outdoor.
They'll let you visit (pre-arranged) to check .
