I shouldn't do this to myself but I regularly browse the guinea-pigs on Gumtree Sad

I've noticed now alongside "Kids allergy" / "Kids lost interest"/ "Work commitments"/ "Moving House" there's a new one...........

"My kids have outgrown them"

Outgrown like a pair of old shoes. Cast aside like a pair of smelly old plimsils at the end of the school year Hmm

That's really sad :( I try not to browse or I will want to take them all home!

I ended up with someone unwanted guinea pigs. They were bought for kids but they had lost interest.

They came to me with 2 inch nails, matted fur and one was blind in one eye. I have never seen animals in such a bad state.

Now they're living happily at my house with all the room they need. They're like 2 different animals Smile

I wish people would stop buying their kids these pets. It's wrong.

Angrym I've seen that with rats under a year old. WTAF? DP gets annoyed when I start going on gumtree because I get ragey about it. He's banned me rescuing from it as we don't know the rats backgrounds and our own mischief's health comes first. The amount of times I've been tempted though!
