Moving indoor guinea pigs outside temporarily

I keep our guinea pigs indoors, with time outside in their run every day when the weather's good. We're going on holiday soon and our easiest option is for a nearby friend to look after them, but they would be kept outside (we have a proper hutch for outside). Do you think they'll be alright outside, or will they have got too "soft" from being kept indoors? I'm just worried about temperature really. They would have very good care from my friend, she has her own outdoor piggies and the hutch would be in the shade. It's in a few weeks so theoretically will still be summer!

They will be fine providing you get them used to the change and make sure you give them shelter and hay (Hay is a brilliant insulator, they use it to cook stews by residual heat in earthenware pots )
When I pick up the guineas their little hay nests (Pooh Nests) are toasty warm .

My pigs stay in their Pighouse till December time (though they come indoors for Guy Fawkes) .

Providing they are used to their outdoor accomodation and are protected (foxes, draughts,damp, and enough hay) they be fine, so start them glamping a couple of weeks before
And your friend will know how much bedding to give them if she's got her own pigs outdoors.
