What would you team with this skirt?

I have a skirt which is identical to this one from fat face which I bought from Gap about 4 years ago.

I have hardly worn it because not sure what to pair it with. Black seems to harsh. Could I wear with chocolate opaques, flat boots and a chocolate cardi? Also have teal tops which could possibly work but what to wear on legs if so? Or do I need to team with black or other grey stuff?

I have a grey merino rollneck which I layer with a white vest (so you get a white band between bottom of jumper and jeans, for example). They would work but, again, then what to wear on legs?

I have:
black mid-calf biker boots,
black heeled knee-high boots
brown flat knee high boots.

If I wore brown boots with either the teal or grey combo, what colour tights? charcoal?

H&M have some lovely thigh cream/oatmeal ribbed tights in at the moment (although I've failed to find them in my size so far). they might work. They've got some wooly looking tights with a slight sparkle in too in (I think) a light plum colour and, er, something more neutral (grey?)

I think if you wore teal top then you could get away with black tights or charcoal with black biker boots. I personally am not keen on brown/grey together but thats from the woman whose wardrobe consists entirely of black!!

Thanks ladies

Clure - I struggle with the whole coloured tights issue because I have always been black opaques kind of gal until last winter when I ventured into brown!

I also agree that biker boots rather than heeled boots are the way to go. I always feel whore-ish in black heeled boots with any kind of casual skirt - be that classic denim or cord.

Gunpowder.....am intrigued by your cream/oatmeal ribbed tights in H&M and will go searching on Monday when DCs back in school. Am HUGE H&M devotee.......tis defintely one of those stores that one needs the time to browse properly (I have £20 jersey dresses and £20 merino wool polo necks which have far outlasted their Jaeger, DVF,DKNY counterparts in my wardrobe).

They had them on a dummy on the window - with a kind of arran jumper effect IIRC but I couldn't find those at all in store. The ones I could find were a plain straight rib but not in my size [sigh].

Gunpowder - do you mean a kind of cable knit? (a twisted rib knit).
