and if so, with what accesories/layers etc

yes by all means

- fitted shirts under fitted jumpers or tank tops
- short-sleeved prettier blouses with longsleeved tshirts under
- long-sleeved tunicy shirts over vests or longsleeved tees

not sure how shortsleeved tuncy ones would work but that is due to my lack of visualisation rather than anything else

I wear my white and cream shirts all year

Flame beat me to it. If you want to wear it, wear it. Acceptable?

Don't wear linen in winter - it's a summer fabric!

Cotton is fine, if it is "winter weight" rather than voile.

White is fine at any time of year.

It is just a fabric

I would let the temperature be your guide: if it's 20 degrees plus in October: why not?

stuffitllllama Wed 30-Sep-09 16:24:07

yes, and soft old linen can be nice and warm, and if you can get the stains out, why not trews

not many people will be wearing white linen trews in winter, they could look nice with a wild warm sweater and some timberlands

i think no
i saw a woman looking nice in a long white shirt and cardigan
got mine out ( linen) and no it looked wrong
