im only 5foot 1 and size 6 im fare skinned with dark hair blue eyes (anymore and it may give me away smile ) the outfit is for a wedding reception we have got comung up. what your opinions?

CNyle Sat 26-Sep-09 12:38:32

too tarty for a wedding
sounds clubby to me

mothersmilk Sat 26-Sep-09 12:39:31

really oh damn

MrsBadger Sat 26-Sep-09 12:49:19

CNyle is probably right

if the rest of the guests who have been at the ceremony will be wearing flowery dresses, linen suits and big hats you will look like a stripper.

but it does depend on the wedding and the venue though - in some plcaes what you describe (with a cardi or wrap) would look noteworthy but not outrageous.

TheFoosa Sat 26-Sep-09 12:51:54

you'll get daggers from the other women

mothersmilk Sat 26-Sep-09 12:55:16

hmm its a difficult one because srtcktly speaking its not actually a wedding hmm there will be no church no ceromony evan just a big BIG party maybe i'd best get a cardy and just go with the attitude i will wear it whilst i can

mothersmilk Sat 26-Sep-09 12:56:31

TheFoosa unfortunatly i have spent my entire life getting daggers from other women whatever i wear im used to it sad still hurts mind

TheFoosa Sat 26-Sep-09 13:01:39

mothersmilk Sat 26-Sep-09 13:02:22

mothersmilk Sat 26-Sep-09 13:05:41

cornsilk Sat 26-Sep-09 13:09:34

Have you got a shrug or something to go over your shoulders?

Morosky Sat 26-Sep-09 13:10:20

Not suitable for a wedding.

CNyle Sat 26-Sep-09 13:16:22

fucking hell no way

CNyle Sat 26-Sep-09 13:16:44

you will look like a striper
DO NOT WEAR allover sequins to someone elses wedding

Tortington Sat 26-Sep-09 13:18:25

lol look at the pic of the woman wearing it - she looks like shes scratching her arse

CNyle Sat 26-Sep-09 13:19:07

i was just looking at ehr and she is saying" suitable for a wedding??"

and arse scratching too

mothersmilk Sat 26-Sep-09 13:19:23

ok ~shys away to fing something else~

Amandoh Sat 26-Sep-09 13:27:16

Your dress does sound a little "Look at me!"

Do you have an alternative dress you could wear? If you're already having last minute wobbles then you obviously do care what others think and turning up looking like the cabaret won't make you popular. Save the dress for an occasion when you'll feel completely comfortable wearing it.

dogonpoints Sat 26-Sep-09 13:29:03

poor milk.

I think little skinny people like you look ok in short strapless things. Why not wear it to a wedding? Do guests really check out others' florals and linens?

dogonpoints Sat 26-Sep-09 13:29:39

Ach, wear it. It's a party.

mothersmilk Sat 26-Sep-09 13:34:28

thankyou dogonpoints {smile} i shall try it on again get a shrug and perhaps wear it i saw it and thought iv just got to have it im only in my early 20's iv had two kids and i look good (i think) im just fed up on constantly dressing down so not to offened too many people thanks again dogonpoints

noddyholder Sat 26-Sep-09 13:35:29

I like it but not for a wedding Love the models hair if i was young and crease free i would have that 'do'

dogonpoints Sat 26-Sep-09 13:36:47

oh heavens, you're a young lass. Wear it, you'll look great.

We are all over 40, you know.

ahundredtimes Sat 26-Sep-09 13:38:00

I wouldn't look daggers at you. I'd think you were great.

Depends on the party. If it's a big evening bash, then fine to wear, it's an evening dress. If it's an afternoon number with a salmon buffet, then I think you might feel a bit wrong.

lol at everyone trying to make her cover up

Heated Sat 26-Sep-09 13:42:55

When you're wee and young you can get away with all sorts clothing wise envy but if it's for a day-time wedding reception then it's too cabaret. If it's an evening do with a disco it'll be ok. What's the event like?
