l'oreal lacqui resist is good

I am a big fan of Chanel, OPI and Jessica. The most important thing from a non chipping/long lasting perspective is a decent base coat and top coat.

Jessica Brilliance is a very good top coat and the do base coats to suit your nail type - I use the one for brittle for nails. I hear that the OPI top coat is also good.

I see the new must-have Chanel colour is jade green! I quite fancy that for my toes!

Alibabaandthe40nappies Mon 21-Sep-09 15:00:20

Chanel is my favourite.

i'm really sorry but it isn't about polish, it is about how much drying between your FOUR coats:

base coat, first colour coat, second colour coat and top coat.

if you allow a good 10 mins between coats and then dry overnight your nails will last two weeks without chipping.

rimmel 20 seconds has lasted me this long with no problem at all.

I was using the OPI strengthener which I found excellent as a clear varnish. Then I read that it has formaldehyde as an ingredient and got a bit worried ....

Sparkletastic Mon 21-Sep-09 15:32:53

OPI is magnificent - my Chanel ones have gone claggy really quickly so not great value for money IMO

Sunshinemambo Mon 21-Sep-09 15:34:12

Essie definitely. Two coats on my toes has lasted a week without chipping. And they have some fab colours.

I keep my nail varnish in the fridge, this stops it becoming gloopy.

zisforzebra Mon 21-Sep-09 15:50:05

Maybelline is good and also L'Oreal. I also keep mine in the fridge and it never goes cloggy (quite annoying for DH though!)

mathanxiety Mon 21-Sep-09 17:37:26

They use OPI in all the nail places near me.

bluebump Mon 21-Sep-09 17:39:54

I like Barry M - loads of colours to choose from.

TheShopaholic Mon 21-Sep-09 17:43:19

Chanel and OPI get my vote

AxisofEvil Mon 21-Sep-09 17:46:49

Another OPI vote. One of the reasons I like them is they do a good selection of non sparkly nail polishes - harder to find than you'd think

chocolatefudgebrownie Mon 21-Sep-09 17:52:54

I have found the aldi nail varnishes to be very long lasting <cheapskate>

Chanel and Barry M. Disappointingly not Nails Inc. I have bought a Barry M rip off of the Chanel Jade colour as it's not out until Oct. Unfortunately looking at my fingers as I type I realise I look like an extra from Wicked. hmm

OPI good but Essie better. Godd luck with the nails.
