These Boden sales....

I've heard there is one in Guildford in a couple of weeks.

A couple of questions though:

  • Are things significantly more reduced than on the sale website?
  • Can you send things back if they don't fit?
  • Is it really the horrendous scrum that I've heard?

    Thanks!

I have been to 2 of these. Items are very much lower priced than in Catalogue sale. The last one I went to I got mens woollen hat, straw bag,2x ladies shirts and pair of boys cords for £35! Excellent I thought, but a friend went and saw nothing for her or her family.
The first one I went to was indeed a bear fight and my tip would be to go at the beginning of the afternoon to avoid the mad bargain hunters- they are constantly topping things up until they run out of stock.
Good luck Oxcat!

I have been to two and they were much cheaper than the sale prices.

All items are put out in big plastic boxes in sizes. So a box of 4-5 or 11-12 or ladies 16 etc. They also have rails for coats and adult skirts. But it is a bear pit, the queues start an hour before and there are some scary shoppers!! Grab a basket and heap in all you see that you like and then find a quiet corner to sort through. The pricing is simple, all girls skirts are one price it was £8 when I went and all dresses were £10. I picked up a coat for £15 for DD1 that was still on sale on the website for £35.

There were a lot of people who were buying boxes and boxes to sell on e-bay and that was a bit annoying!

You can not exchange or refund any of the items though so check carefully. I found some people were really dreadful and threw items on the floor they did not want.

Good luck, have fun!

Sharpen yr elbows, go early, and deffo do the grab everything you think you might want first off and then find a corner and sort. And then subsequently find someone else's pile of unwanted clothes and rifle through those!

There are bargains to be had.

I went to one in the summer. It's not dirt cheap, prices were £20 for all womens skirts, £30 for all knitwear, and I think £15 for all tops.

I've had better in the actual sale online. Definitely worth a look though - there was no scrum at the one I went to.

And if you're a sad Boden groupie it's quite a thrill to get a big Boden carrier bag

Though as I said at the time, digging through scabby boxes in a smelly scout hall does somewhat take the mystique off Boden clothing. Kind of makes you wonder what the fuss is about.
