much nicer than when they get waxed

but ow ow ow

ouch at the cost too, £13!

kidcreoleandthecoconuts Wed 15-Jul-09 13:52:37

Is that when they pull out the hairs with pieces of thread (?) hmm

skidoodle Wed 15-Jul-09 13:52:40

I agree, I always get mine threaded if the option is available.

I don't think it's as unpleasant as the sensation of being waxed either.

aGalChangedHerName Wed 15-Jul-09 13:55:42

How much more painful is it than waxing. My mate knows a threader who does it for £8. Don't find waxing that painful btw.

sherby Wed 15-Jul-09 14:03:38

well my eyebrows were a mess, so maybe why it hurt quite a bit

she was doing each one for about 10 mins blush

she was saying that you get a much straighter line because they can pull out a whole line at once

I live in deepest darkest essex and it is v difficult to stop them from waxing your brows to nothing at all as seems to be the fashion around here, but the threading has left a really nice shape and arch

I have a wedding reception next week so will maybe get the number for the threader lady.

Give it a bash!!

sherby Wed 15-Jul-09 14:20:15

let us know how it goes

so pleased with mine

aGalChangedHerName Wed 15-Jul-09 14:27:47

Will do. Have texted my friend so will get booked in asap before i lose my nerve lol.

Fimbo Wed 15-Jul-09 14:31:05

aGal - were you the poster who got burnt by wax? If so, how are you?

I think my local Debenhams does threading but you can't book appointments which is a pain.

Picante Wed 15-Jul-09 14:32:06

You need to find an asian beauty parlour - I get mine threaded for £3.50!

If anyone is in Whitechapel I can heartily recommend the Afreen Beauty Parlour. Best eyebrows I've ever had, for £4.00!! Well, a fiver with the tip.

aGalChangedHerName Wed 15-Jul-09 15:20:08

Fimbo wasn't me who got burnt. Think it was Mawbroon iirc?

sherby Wed 15-Jul-09 16:11:08

Debenhams was where I got it done, just walk in no appts

alittlebitshy Wed 15-Jul-09 16:35:45

I only pay £3 which is amazing. When i was having them waxed it was £5.95 and i thought that was cheap!!! Am in london/essex.

waitingforgodot Wed 15-Jul-09 18:40:30

I would love to get that done but in Debenhams they seem to have you sitting in the middle of the shop floor? I wouldnt fancy everyone gawping at me

sherby Wed 15-Jul-09 20:36:11

ours is round the corner a bit so people cant really see iyswim

Had mine done recently, was also very chuffed. Just needing to be done again about 8 weeks later so off for another go next week. Paid £20 in dept store for eyebrows and top lip. Lip not needing done again yet though.
