here

I am 31.

Do you think it would look nice open as well as fastened?

I am on the verge of ordering it....

Will you all stop worrying about your age? Do you not realise how offensive this kind of attitude is, that pervades the boards here? How do you think I, as an older member of MN feels about the constant insinuation that beyond the age of 30 I am old (and therefore resigned to the blue rinse scrapheap)

You are a child, ffs, if you can afford it, buy it.

What could you possibly be too old for at 31

I am 40 and bought myself a similar jacket for my birthday, I love it and wear it a lot with floral dresses - I think you like that look too don't you? Also great with jeans and layered t-shirts and a long skinny scarf.

Buy it

It'll look good with Damart trousers and Hotter shoes.

macherie yes I do like that look and I am still mulling it over - I am glad to hear you get alot of wear out of yours and that is a definate plus point.

Maybe me saying 'old' was the wrong definition. What I mean is, here I am pushing my buggy, with a 3 year old in tow, wearing a totally fabulous leather jacket. I don't want to be one of those women who just look too 'try hard' (and I think there is more of a possibility of this the older you get)

So, really, "is this jacket too cool for me?" is maybe the question.

Also something else I was thinking, can one wear a dark brown leather jacket with any coloured shoes/boots? My initial thought is to wear with any colour, and not stress about it. But what do you think? (macherie?)

I think you can treat the jacket as a 'neutral', and wear just about anything with it.

Hi Jewels!

I think MissBlythe is right, I would regard dark brown as neutral and wear everything with it. The one I got is dark grey, but I would have loved dark brown if they'd had it. I bought it when I was in London with dh and the dc's for the weekend and I had 2 hours shopping time - it was an impulse buy, and at first I thought 'what have i done', but it's turned out to be a great success - I've got lots of compliments on it too.

From what you've said here about your style, I think it would be great on you.

It's a cool jacket, but you sound pretty cool too
