Please help me shop for a funeral outfit

My dear dad died yesterday. Please help me get an outfit organised for the funeral. It doesn't have to be black. I need shirt or dress and a jacket plus shoes or boots.
I am size 12 and 5 ft 7.
I normally shop at Laura Ashley, M&S, Debenhams and Boden. Our next town has a bigger selection of shops so I could go there.
Please help, the funeral will be very well attended and I want to do my dad proud IYSWIM. TIA

sorry to hear about your dad. Good to hear you have friends (and wine)

I tend to go for navy stuff, but that's more personal preference... do you have a 'favourite' colour, or one that your dad thought you look smart in? Do you think greys and blues, browns etc or are you thinking lighter colours?

I like those shoes, enough height without worrying about falling over.
Not sure about the suit. Blouse is a possible.

Have taken a look at Debenhams - black dress and black and white is lighter, might be nice with a black jacket or coat over?

Sorry, was meaning spot blouse. Not sure about ruffle blouse.

like your boden skirt.
I don't think the black jacket and dress together, too, well, black I didnt put it very well, meant the sort of jacket with the black and white dress. Anyway i like your purple-ish skirt better, black jacket and shoes

Hope you can get some zzz's tonight, a rest at least.
Nighty night for now

Not sure if it all goes together. i guess I can order stuff from M&S and return to my local store if it is not suitable.
I should go to bed but don't think I can sleep.

Sorry about your dad,Cathcat.I lost my Dad in July of this year.I was very, very close to him.I'm diverting a little as I'm very big and couldn't possibly help with your outfit but, when I saw your post,I couldn't help but respond because don't you think it's funny...how we worry about what we wear for their funeral?
Thinking of you btw.Hope funeral goes ok.

no you're not talking to yourself
had to go and take all three little darlings for wee-wees as all are too knackered to wake up and go atm, new term and all that.
So how's it going? Have looked at your links, dunno if the damson would be anywhere near the boden skirt, given that it is the same company and they have different 'names' for the colours, with the law of sod averages it probably wouldn't quite match. If it doesn't go, would the grey one suit you and wear something like a nice purple-ish necklace or scarf?

Thank you Cutekids, yes, you are right. Sorry to hear about your dad too.
Gigglewitch, your thoughts sum up what I was worrying about. Grey is a good idea. Thanks for your ideas.

I like the oasis stuff. I like this blouse. Do you think it would go with the violet boden skirt?

lovely top. oh gawd, dunno whether it would go with the skirt. And oh gawd again, I've set you off on oasis now haven't i

P'raps it is time to take your exploding head to bed, come back and see all the lovely links when you get a spare minute tomorrow (hoping you do get spare minutes here and there) with eyes and brain working.
Resist trying to do much now, tis time for sleep. All good cats and kittens should be tucked up in bed at this hour
