i'm a stylist and hard to suggest without knowing your height, size etc.....

but how about a pair of wide legged black trousers and a chiffon type sleeveless victorian blouse (v kneck better to take away empahis on tummy) and high heels/wedges?

enjoy yourself sounds like fun!x

Thanks for the reply sunshine I am 27. 5'3' and about a size 12. I like the idea of wide legged black trousers but what kind of colours for the top would be good and what kind of accessories too. for colours I am a bit tanned and have dark brown hair and eyes.

Red red red, with some nice very dark brown wideleg trousers. You need some nice warm colours, NOT black.

Black wide-legged trousers good idea as easy to find in 2 days and goes with most things

I know black and white is "in" at the moment but don't do a white top if you are big of nork (as others more stylish than me say on this site "you will look like a baker"!!!) How about a plum coloured wrap top (slimming but gives you colour)? Toes, jewellery and bag to match.

Hope you have a lovely evening!

Pippibluestocking, I'm sorry if you feel that whistles, jigsaw and toast aren't 'budget' but 'budget' was never mentioned in the post. And I think that even people on a tight budget could find something nice in there as the sales are on.... she's not going to look very good if she turns up at an important dinner with her husbands work colleagues wearing primark is she? Think she would like her husband to feel proud of her ......?

Ooh - how about this? Lovely eveningy fabric, but forgiving, and flattering. I rather like this too.

Thanks for the replies everyone. JackieNo i actually really like the purple top its a definate maybe i love the colour and cut I also like emerald green too so I will look to see if I can find a top in that colour.
Sorry Malory it a sad fact but very true I don't do dresses as I feel really self conscious in them and it just seem like a waste of an evening if i spend it worring thatI don't look good.
I think a nice coloure top with black wide leg trousers but do I do wedges or heels with them I personally prefer wedges (black) and mybea nice cuff and gorgeous earings to set the whole thing off.
By the way Counting I can't access your link.
No 1 stylist my hubby will be happy whatever I wear it is more a case I want to resurface in to the adult world feeling sexy and confident.

I'd be inclined to go for wedges if that's what you feel comfortable in - as long as it's a bit of a heel, that should work. Then some striking jewellery, and you're away. Hope you have a good time.

sorry about link - it works from over here - (mainland Europe)

I've probably done something stupid ...

try googling Kew Clothing

then go to tops

then go to side-knot top in plum

it's a really flattering shape
