Am back in the office now and seeking a new smart (ish) work bag. Ideally.....

Room for a laptop or laptop pocket inside

Really strong zips/ seams

Can be used as backpack or over shoulder

Looks fairly slick/ well-designed/ good quality

Does such a thing exist???

Longchamp Le Pliage? They get good reviews as workhorse bags or there’s the LV never full bags.

Knomo bags are lovely and they have a good range of styles. Leather is beautifully soft too!

I love my le pliage neo for work .... really roomy and because there are no internal compartments breaking up the space you can fit in loads without it looking crammed. Lots of colour options too - I have a completely black neo which is a touch smarter than the classic black with tan handles in my opinion.

Not a back-pack but I love my Coach tote, strong and sturdy, good zip, can wear it on shoulder or in crook of arm, holds a multitude.

Prada is my go to for wrok bags since I don’t treat my bags kindly. The saffiano leather is really hard wearing. The larger ones can carry a laptop and you can use the shoulder strap.

This is a pretty good budget option. I’ve got it & really like it. It’s not too bulky but it does have a few little separate sections inside and useful little zip pocket on the outside that you can access your work/travel pass quickly. No laptop slip though:

I have this www.fjallraven.com/uk/en-gb/bags-gear/backpacks-bags/shoulder-bags/totepack-no-2 which can be used as a shoulder bag or backpack. I have the dark grey colour and have used it practically every day for about 4 years and it's just started to show signs of wear (and I don't treat bags kindly). You can often find them cheaper on other websites with more range of colours too. You can also chuck it in the washing machine.
