Waxing

Hello, I have wanted to get a bikini line wax for years but always been too anxious to go for it. Now the salons are opening and as my hair is ridiculous I thought it might be a good time to actually pluck up the courage to go sometime! I've been very unwell recently so haven't shaved for ages. I know you need a certain amount of growth for it to take, am I ok to just go as I am or will it being too long cause issues/make it more painful? Same for my thighs, I'm interested in getting them done too potentially or should I just stuck with one treatment for my first time? I have had waxing done on my eyebrows and upper lip before and never found that painful but I am imagining a large area like a thigh and an intimate area like bikini line is a totally different kettle of fish!! I don't have a great pain tolerance I don't think Blush. Also I am pregnant, not sure if that makes any difference? Thanks!

Had waxing done down there regularly before lockdown and can honestly say my eyebrows hurt way more than my bikini line. They will give it a trim for you if they think it will help. Maybe just go for the one treatment first, just to ease you in. Make sure you go somewhere that uses the hot wax and not the strips. The strips rip the top layer of your skin off and can cause lots of irritation. Hot wax is much more kinder to your sensitive areas!

Thanks, also I should have asked, how do they do it? I'm assuming I lay on a bed and I can keep my underwear on right as I only want the bikini line doing not the whole shabang? My friend has recommended a salon to me and they have hot wax as an option so was definitely going to choose that one even though it's more expensive.

Hair only has to be 2cm long, go for a hot wax! less pain. And wear a pair of knickers that aren't to big or fancy we had Lacy numbers as they get in the way 😂

It hurts, but waxing is so quick. If it is just the bikini line IME you keep your pants on, but they will ask you to pull them slightly to the side to reveal more skin if that makes sense? Yes, the treatment is typically lying on a bed. No experience on thighs, or pregnancy treatments.

Is it ok if I just leave my hair as is, if it's longer will that cause any issues or make it more painful?

Waxing is one of the most superior ways of hair removal from the root. To wax or not? That's the question many of us ask ourselves once it's summer, well if you're second-guessing about your wax - appointment then let us tell you that everything you hear from your friends and family is not exactly true, there are so many conspiracy theories about waxing. In this blog, we will debunk some common myths about waxing.

Myth - waxing can make your hair grow back thicker

Fact - This is not true, waxing simply alters the growth cycle of your hair but will not alter its thickness. The exfoliating nature of this hair removal method helps your skin feel and look smoother.

Myth - waxing is painful

Fact - every skin reacts differently. So it depends on skin type and varies from person to person. Since you're pulling hair out from the root waxing won't feel like massage but we assure you that we have a less painful solution for you to try (product link)

Myth - Your hair has to belong to wax it

Fact - well, that's actually not true, your hair only has to be at least ¼ inchlong i.e size of a grain of rice to get a smooth finish.

Myth - Waxing is for younger women only

Fact - Definitely not true. Agreeing to this would be as similar as saying there's an end time to feel beautiful. There's no age limit for waxing, you can feel beautiful regardless of age!

Myth - you can't wax on your period

Fact - of course, you can. Just note that because of hormonal influxes you will be a bit hypersensitive.

Now, here are our recommendations for wax according to all skin type -

(amzn.to/3cDxAYN) - for dry skin

(amzn.to/35aA50J) - for combination skin

(amzn.to/3ggRpr1) - for sensitive skin

(amzn.to/2SsS2oo) - out top-selling Brazilian wax for face, upper lips, bikini line; suits all skin type.

You have to be extremely courteous about it though.

I presume you mean 2mm, not 2cm 🤔?

Had mine done Friday, been 7 weeks as was in hospital so hair was a bit long but sparse. Minor ouch factor. I notice that my hair does grow back sparser when I have it done.

I have it all off as I feel better that way. The lady I go to uses hot wax and have my foof done hurts less than my legs ( I keep forgetting to moisturise!)
